An Adventure into the Arts!

Choose from a variety of options for a fantastic adventure into the Arts, and get ready to spend a fabulous week learning from experienced and talented artists! In addition, well trained, exuberant staff provide regular camp activities including lakefront swimming, archery, crafts, games, sports, cabin times, special evening activities, evening campfires, chapels, and more! Enjoy nutritious, delicious meals served in a large dining hall and sleep in the on-site dormitories. Invite your friends and family to the FRIDAY afternoon Art Show and Drama, Music, and Dance presentations. Children entering grades 4 to 6 may opt to attend as day campers.
Electives Listing
During registration, you will be given the chance to select a total of 5 options and mark them in order of preference – 1, 2, 3, 4, or A where A is an alternate.

ART ELECTIVES
- Water Colour, Oil and Acrylic Painting
- Learn the basic techniques of these three different mediums while creating unique beautiful paintings.
- Creative Leatherwork
- Learn the tools and techniques of working with leather to create unique and colourful pieces.
- Wire Jewellery
- Learn to create jewellery and findings combining beads and wire, producing your own unique pieces.
- Photography/Digital Imaging
- Learn to set-up and photograph realistic scenes using special photographic techniques to produce great effects in video presentation.
- Stained Glass – Grades 7 -10 only
- Produce two and three dimensional products while studying design, colour selection, cutting, grinding, copper foil, and soldering techniques.
- Pottery
- Learn a variety of hand-building techniques along with specific decoration and glazing variations to produce beautiful, unique pieces.
- Wood-burning – Grades 7 – 10 only
- Learn the burning basics (including colour application) and create a variety of unique pieces including your own walking stick.
- Card Making
- Using specialty papers, pens, markers, and unique cutting tools, design your own cards and learn fold and seam cutting, colour enhancement, stamping, embellishments, and more.
DANCE AND DRAMA ELECTIVES
Calling all dram enthusiasts and actors! This year our Director. (Linda Leigh), haw written another play to be presented at the end of the camp week. If you would like to be involved with this production, then you must choose both Drama “Take One” and Drama “Take Two”, which will end up being 2 of your choices.
- Dance, Movement, Exercise Bags, Flags and More
- Create pictures, images, colours, atmosphere and moods by using moves and basic dance steps and enhancing numerous styles of dance.
- Designing Dance Routines
- Learn how to design easy to complicated dance routines of your own that reflect your individual style.
- DRAMA “Take One!”
- Join in the fun of scene acting, role playing, and scripts to bring together an amazing final product
- DRAMA “Take Two!”
- Using tableau, (frozen pictures), story telling, and improvisation, learn how to produce very effective messages for enhanced presentation.
- Stage Make-up/Mask-Making
- This is a two-part programme in which campers will learn to make specific masks to be used for a chosen drama presentation, along with learning to use stage make-up to produce a variety of looks to greatly change and enhance actor’s presentations.
- Prop Making and Stage Handling
- Designed specifically for those who love to be part of the backstage world, helping to pull the productions together by making, providing, and moving props, and learning how to quickly and discreetly make scene changes work.
MUSIC ELECTIVES
- Vocal Production
- Discover and compare the gifts of the speaking and singing voice through combinations of ensemble and optional solo singing. Participants will present their experiences through an ensemble performance at the end of the week.
- Bucket Drumming
- Join in the fun of learning bucket drumming through rhythm games, sequencing, rhythm reading, circle drumming and more!
- Exploring Rhythms in Sound and Sound Effects
- Through use of natural and found objects, select rhythm and percussion instruments, “Boom-Whackers”, noise-makers, and more, you will discover the world of rhythm in sound and study how sound effects are used to create certain atmospheres and enhance dramatic moments.
