Rev. Dr. J. Nixon McMillan is a minister, organist, conductor, composer, and professor. He is presently the rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Albany, NY. From the age of fourteen, Rev. McMillan has served churches in Canada and the United States as a musician and more recently as a priest. Nixon was the Music Director of the Early Music Ensemble Sine Nomine in Easting Lansing, Michigan for many years. In 1997, Nixon graduated with a Ph. D. in Music from the University of Iowa, after earning church music and organ performance degrees and diplomas from England, the United States, and Canada. During the last decade, he has performed organ recitals as far to the east as Russia, and as far to the west as Australia. In the summer of 2005, he performed two recitals in the 25th Annual Summer Organ Series on Prince Edward Island at the invitation of Dr. Alan Reesor, National President of the Royal Canadian College of Organists.
As Nixon has opportunity, he continues to play and conduct. We are so blessed at Choral Camp that Nixon, our founding Music Director of Adullam Choral Camp, has continue to provide leadership for the last 35 years of camp!
